Electric Power

Duke Energy Progress and the Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative supply reliable, efficient and competitively priced electric power to Carteret County. Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative’s primary service area is: Cape Carteret, Cedar Point, Emerald Isle, Indian Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Cedar Island, Harkers Island and Browns Island. Both companies will provide industrial electric power rates if you contact them.

Natural Gas

Natural gas is available along the Highway 70 corridor from Piedmont Natural Gas.

Telecommunications

Several companies provide a range of telecommunications related business services in Carteret County including computer, voice, wireless, networking, cloud, hosting, and security applications.

Water

The County has high quality water, with sufficient supply, treatment, distribution and storage to permit the expansion of service to new or expanding business and industry. Water service is provided through municipal systems.

Solid Waste

Carteret County operates 12 Convenience Sites to collect Solid Waste from the residents living in the unincorporated areas of the county, as well as collect recyclable materials from all citizens. There is no on site charge to residents for the services offered at the convenience sites.
